Privacy Policy
Last updated August 26, 2026. Plain-English summary: we don't run ads, we don't sell data, and two privacy-focused analytics tools help us see what's working.
Analytics
This site uses free analytics tools to understand traffic and how pages are used:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics β aggregate traffic counts (page views, top pages, referrers, countries, devices). It's cookieless and doesn't track you across other sites.
- Microsoft Clarity β behavior analytics such as heatmaps, scroll depth, and session recordings, so we can see which parts of a page get used and which don't. Clarity sets a first-party cookie to group your pageviews into one session, and masks input fields (like the search box) by default so typed text isn't recorded.
- A first-party location log β each pageview also gets sent to a small server we run (a Cloudflare Worker), which records your approximate city, region, postal code, and coordinates, derived from Cloudflare's own edge network rather than from a third-party geolocation service. This is more precise than the country-level data the two tools above give, and it's used only in aggregate, to see broadly where visitors are coming from β never to identify or contact an individual visitor. We don't store your IP address alongside it.
None of this is used to serve ads, and none of it is shared with or sold to a third party. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, this site doesn't load any of the above at all β nothing is measured for that visit.
Super Bowl Squares accounts
The Super Bowl Squares page lets you create an account (via Google Sign-In or an email/password) to join a group and make picks. That's the only place on this site where we ask for anything personally identifying β your email address and, if you use Google Sign-In, your Google account's basic profile info. It's used solely to run that feature (identifying who made which pick) and isn't shared with advertisers or used for analytics.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no ad-network scripts of any kind.
- No selling or sharing your data with third parties for marketing.
- No fingerprinting or other techniques to identify you across visits beyond the ordinary cookies described above.
Third-party links
Most of this site's content is aggregated from public news feeds, and articles link out to the original source. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy doesn't cover.
Data handled by our vendors
Cloudflare's and Microsoft's own privacy statements cover how they handle the data their tools collect on our behalf: Cloudflare's Privacy Policy β and Microsoft's Privacy Statement β.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects or how it's used changes, this page will be updated to reflect that.
